Wow! nice finds - a lot of rings for one outing and nice pics. You guys are showing me a lot of things I don't usually see during our time there. Used to see turtles on WB but the season must have changed as we don't see them anymore. Keep posting and hope to meet up with some of you when we get there.

CC Great finds It sure looks like the surf gods are rewarding you for the beating you took returning the engagement ring
Cool Australian Coin too, that thing made it half way around the world for you to find.

Cool thing helping the baby turtle too.
I was going to make a new post but this fits yours too well.
I went to a little more out of the way place today, didn't find much but I did find what looked like someone had dragged a body up on the sand, I just had toinvestigate.

I have to agree with you guys on finds there but like anyplace else, there's always a chance.

A few years ago the superintendent used to define the rules a little different then the current one does. After peek season the entire beach area of the park was OK to hunt.
My best find was a dogs licences that I was able to return.

and i like it.............many will laugh, but it is a kewl ticket to me.................i know they are out there, we find many many big ones, but for me, never one like this.

silver and yellow tooo...............the lane for 2 hours was the best i ever seen it this season.

and no other hunters to be found today.................strange

I've got to agree with Randy and I have hunted that area quite a few times to include the dry sand. I have never found anything significant or even clad in significant numbers. I know some old timers that field the same opinion. I'm sure people lose things there. The sand seems so much softer there as well...I bet good stuff will sink fast. How's that for sour grapes!!! lol

Labor Day Weekend: A Little Gold and Silver

I wasn't sure if the storm had any significant impact on my local beach or if it was good old fashion tourism and the things they left behind. My clad was certainly dingy. Junk jewelry finds were crusty. I went out Friday evening and found little but a new sand bonanza.

I found a baby Loggerhead making a mad dash for the lights at the Kure Beach Parking Lot. He was friskier than a new bride on a chilly evening. I grabbed that rascal three times to turn him around. I've never seen anything that little cover distance so fast...think he could even beat a Palmetto Bug! I took him down beach to where the beach was dark and put him in the water...I think he figured it out. I found out later there was a hatch that night in south Kure...53 hatched out and made the run! He seemed like a survivor! Only one out of a thousand make it to adulthood.

The watch I thought was still ticking when I dug it...matched the exact time on my personal time keeper...2 hours later and it was still ...

it's really no lost. as all the times i have ever hunted the high tide mark down , never found anything , and you were always worried if you went past the high tide mark one or two inches. as they were always watching most of the time.

i could tell this morning that things were picking up for a change..............no yellow metal yet, but great improvement. my buddy lowtide tim found silver ring and titanium and we saw one nice gold with nice ice this morning.

i decided to give the lane a spin this evening as well

Nice going CC - way to stick to it. Things like this let us all get better looks from those around us on the beach. Over the years I have had the chance to return quite a few rings. The look on their face can never be replaced. I never had to breathe underwater though sounds like you took quite a beating.

For recent stuff, fresh drops: Nags Head Pier area; Large motels between NH and Kitty Hawk.
The Public Beach access at Kitty Hawk in Line with the Wrights
Bros. Museum has the most beach bathing traffic...the most on
the outer banks...there is a large beach rescue building at that
location. A few miles north from there is the Black Pelican Rest
aurant. The food is good. More important, the public beach
access point close by has showers and gets a lot of bathers.
I have been lucky there as well.

As Max says, Corolla can be good for old stuff as points north to VA and south to Southern Shores...some places beach accesses are private so you have to do a little investigating, part...
